Yoga Adventure in Egypt
1. Yoga Poses
Let’s go to Egypt by airplane !!
Get on the airplane, fasten your seatbelt, take off!!
Zooooom!!
【Airplane pose】
1. Lie on your stomach.
2. Lift your head upward.
3. Make airplane’s wings with your arms.
4. Bend your knees.
5. Move side to side slightly.
Let’s explore the desert!
What can you see??
Look! There is a cactus!
It has flowers!
It’s a prickly pears cactus.
Egyptian people eat its fruit.
【Cactus pose】
1. Stand with your feet hip width apart. Turn your toes outward.
2. Squat deeply.
3. Put your elbows on your knees. Make cactus flowers with your hands.
Look! A camel is sitting.
He must be tried from walking a long way and carrying luggages!
【Sitting Camel pose】
1. Sit with your knees bent.
2. Put your left knee down to the left side, right knee down to the right side.
3. Raise your right lower leg and hold it with your right arm.
4. Try the other side.
A snake charmer is controlling a cobra by playing the flute!
That's the Egyption cobra.
The cobra has poison.

1. Lie on your stomach.
2. Place your palms down near your chest.
3. Slowly extend your arms.
4. Make a hissing sound ‘Shhhhhhh’ like a cobra.
What’s that?
It has 8 legs, 2 big pincers and a flexible tail with a sting.
It is a scorpion! It has strong poison in the sting.

1. Lie on your stomach.
2. Place your palms down near your chest.
3. Slowly extend your arms. Look up.
4. Bend your knees. Your lower legs are the scorpion’s tail. Your feet are the scorpion’s sting.
Wow!!
We can see ‘The Great Pyramids of Giza’.
The pyramids were build as tombs for the kings about 4,500 years ago.
It’s made of over two million stone blocks!!

1. Stand with your feet wide apart.
2. Bend forward. Place your palms on the ground.
Do you know ‘Cleopatra’ ?
Cleopatra VII was the last queen of Ancient Egypt.
She’s famous for her beauty and intelligence.
She could speak several languages and was a fascinating woman.
【Cleopatra pose】
1. Sit with your legs stretched together.
2. Bend your right (left) knee and put your right (left) foot over your left (right) thigh.
3. Bend your left (right) knee.
Cleopatra liked wearing rose perfume.
Let’s smell your perfume.
Close your eyes, breathe in from your nose,, breathe out from your mouth.
What fragrance is your perfume?
Does it smell like citrus, wood or grass??
Is it sweet, refreshing or spicy smell??
【Perfume Breath】
1. Close your eyes.
2. Imagine that there is a perfume bottle in front of you.
3. Open the bottle, breathe in from your nose deeply. Imagine the fragrance.
4. Breathe out from your mouth deeply.
There is a lady who is dancing. She is wearing a shiny costume! So beautiful.
It’s Bellydance.
It is said that Bellydance originated in Ancient Egypt.

1. Stand straight near a wall.
2. Touch the wall with your right (left) hand.
3. Bend your left(right) knee. Grab your ankle with your left (right) hand.
4. Lift your left(right) leg if possible.

- Shake your hips from side to side.
- Move your arms like a snake.

What’s that?

It’s the Sphinx!
